After a long period of no Wifi traveling to some more areas of Goa and then into the mountain areas we are now connected.
Been an eventful time since our last blog
First event was that Keith has tried out the medical proffesion by having 24hrs in Hospital. All good now and we were looked after all be it in a strange way. I even got a bed for the night care of a ward room along with the most uncomfortable bed in the world.
Maliki team at Little India were excellent in ensuring we had help. Big thank you to them all and the concern they showed.
We then moved on to Agonda and another great team of people. Lovely to see them again but all change on Agonda.
New goverment rules mean no sun beds on the beach. They say to protect the nesting turtles. Also no concrete so Uttam has remade his place making a solid structure of wood with a upper sunroof for sun beds. Also all the cottages have been redesigned and they look great. It means he now has a five yr licence and does not have to take it all down every yr. Must say not sure about no sun beds as atmosphere gone a little but no shortage of lovely friendly helpful people.
We reluctantly left the coast and headed into the mountains. This was a place called Gundiman Home stay. Lovey house and lovely people but the menu was not really for us. Choices did not even include fruit or bread so quite a liquid spicy diet. The area was interesting with Keith tempting our driver to venture down little lanes dirt tracked in most places. We came across a lovely little temple where the carer of this magic place gave us coffee and little bananas. Our next track found a little motor boat and a man who we woke up to take us for a ride with our driver on the lake. Gundiman was on a plantation with Beetle nuts, coffee, peppers and coconut. Really funny after our very short dinner the host immediatly said "Goodnight" but it was only 7.30pm 💤😉

Next place on our list was Palolem. We were looking forward to what had been described as safe swimming and a laid back atmosphere and Palolem did not let us down. The beach, river and the walks to the other beaches were charming. The sea was inviting no matter what time of day it was. Warm and calm. Cozy Nook where we stayed was certainly interesting with a lovely laid back feel. Had a few probs with accommodation one was unloaded all our luggage as six nights there and then
we were told we had been put in the wrong room!!! Not impressed especially as the next room was nothing like the description. Eventually three nights later we had a good room. This beach is certainly (along with Agonda)
one to look at just to stay put on in the warmth and surrounded by friendly people in the future. A trip down the river was excellent with us feeding eagles etc with chicken. Great to see theses majestic
birds swooping and grabbing prey right in front of us.
