We are back with the modern way of communication WIFI.
Forgot to mention we have started “Yin Yoga”. Keith was told in the hospital it can help with heart and artery conditions. Booked three sessions with Lucy and lay at the top of a yoga platform learning movements, breathing and strange words. Very relaxing but will be different at home with no waves lapping at the shore, no palms above our heads and beautiful Hawks flying around. But we will certainly give it a go as will try anything to help Keith.
During our stay in Gundiman we headed for a “Ferry” crossing which we thought would be an experience for our driver unfortunately we arrived to a long long queue as “Pilgrim” trucks were lined up and we were behind them. “pilgrims” every year take on a long trip south visiting many temples on the way. Their vehicles are strewn with flower garlands, flags and all sorts of bags, buckets etc. Many pilgrims are crammed into these cars and so lots if noise and horn sounding goes on to announce their journey along the way. They wear “Dhoti” (skirts that fold up in different ways),
these are black with orange borders, and sometimes a black sort of jacket and no shoes. They are all men of all ages including the occasional child. When they stop they cook their own food, sleep on the ground and, sorry to say, leave tons of rubbish in their wake. When every we meet them it’s selfie time as all have mobile phones and are quite taken with our attire of shorts and tea shirts.
We walked down to the ferry and also found the time to wait would be while as it had broken down !!!!
Sajith looked a bit horrified to think he had to drive on what looked like a “Ferry” in very loose terms. With the wait etc we decided to abandon our ferry trip and stick to the car. I wonder why ๐๐ค
After a very full couple of days at Gundimane seeing “Jog Falls” etc we moved deeper into the forest arriving at a “ Jungle resort” called Tern River Lodge. Fantastic lodge accommodation all be it after
101 steps to it. Certainly improved the fitness as the steps had to be climbed to get to the restaurant
and to reception. Hills as well. Here we took the boat ride lasting 2hrs watching the shore line for the elusive tiger and elephant. Lots of other wildlife including a crocodile and a lovely sunset. Next came the jeep safari with a wake up call at 5.20AM but again no sighting of the above. But the next trip we came across a fab bull elephant who played cat and mouse with us by threatening and the just standing there trouble was he was on our route so we just had to wait and watch. Shame ๐
In the evening there was a camp fire gathering but very sad to see the lack of conversation due to the dreaded mobile phone. Lovely resort, food and great staff. Another place we were reluctant to leave. But if we went travelling back towards the sea to “Malpe”
